projects

Things I build for myself. Each entry says what it does and where it stands. Updated when a project changes.

hyprcage

A caged desktop for AI agents on Hyprland. When an agent needs a graphical app for itself, to test a UI or drive an app, it gets a virtual screen in memory. My monitors, workspaces, focus, and cursor stay untouched. I watch through a mirror window, or not at all.

It is a fork that I extend. I added a way for an agent to read a screen as text instead of screenshots, control of the real desktop, device emulation for phone sizes, and screen recording.

Status: in daily use. Source is public at github.com/mrwick1/hyprcage.

share

A tiny service that publishes one HTML file at a public link that expires. My agents use it to hand me a chart or a mockup without a deploy. The link lasts from one minute to seven days.

Each page runs in a sandbox with no access to the site’s cookies, so a page that an agent wrote cannot read my login. The server is about 135 lines of Python standard library.

Status: in use.

mrwick-app

An Android app for my own use, built with Expo. A small server on the VPS files transactions into the finance tracker, and the app shows the result on the phone.

Status: working, with more screens to build.

The cluster dashboard

A battery and usage view of all my machines. One poller on the always-on laptop writes a cache file. Every display only reads the cache, so a sleeping laptop can never stall a menu bar or a shell prompt. The note One dashboard for three machines covers the same idea.

Status: in use.

This notebook

Astro builds plain HTML from Markdown. A three.js scene draws the homelab as a small city behind each page. Every page still reads without JavaScript. No cookies, no analytics. The hello note says how it works. The map shows where it runs.
